counseling to get past a great loss

Sometimes things can get to be more than you can handle. I know this from my own personal experience. I suffered a great loss and after a year of trying to cope with that loss on my own, I knew that it was time for me to reach out for some help. I was missing work, didn't want to do much of anything and just didn't feel like myself. I started seeing a counselor each week, and it has helped. If you are struggling to recover after a loss, this blog may be able to help you find the help you need to get past it.

3 Ways To Naturally Relieve Your Anxiety Symptoms

by Jessica Mason

Anxiety is a real problem and can truly disrupt your life if you ignore the symptom. So, if symptoms of anxiety are causing problems with your daily life, yet you aren't interested in medication (at least not yet), you may want to consider some natural remedies for anxiety that have been shown to help relieve some of the symptoms that you are experiencing.

Take Chamomile Capsules

The University of Pennsylvania conducted a study that suggested that individuals with generalized anxiety disorder could benefit from the use of the natural herb chamomile. Over the course of eight weeks, some of the participants in the study took 220 mg of chamomile capsules. They started by taking one capsule a day (week one), then two a day (week two), and some were eventually taking five a day. The participants were able to see a significant difference in the anxiety symptoms that they experienced. If you can't locate chamomile capsules, you can indulge in a few glasses of chamomile tea. However, keep in mind that the results may differ.

Have a Good Laugh.

While anxiety itself isn't funny, laughing can help you get rid of the tense feelings that you are experiencing and boost your overall mental health. In addition, laughter can help eliminate your feelings of anxiety over time. When you laugh, oxygen increases inside your body. This helps your muscles relax so that you don't feel physically tense. As a result, you start to mentally relax and your focus starts to shift. It's no wonder people say that laughter is the best medicine. To get yourself laughing, call up a friend that can always get a laugh out of you, head to a local bar with a stand-up comedy night or pull up Netflix and watch your favorite your comedy.

Breathe in Lavender.

Lavender has been known to have numerous sedative and calming effects when it's breathed in. One study has shown that when a person receives a massage with lavender oil that it can help reduce anxiety levels. When lavender oil is used in aromatherapy, it has been shown to have a slowing effect on the body's central nervous system, which can help reverse the symptoms of anxiety allowing an individual to relax and possibly even fall asleep.

While these natural remedies can help manage your symptoms so that you can go about your daily routine easier, it is never a good idea to simply push the problem of your anxiety away. There are always alternatives to medicine, including counseling, so you may want to consider speaking to a professional about other anxiety treatment options that may be available to you.
